The Falling Waters of Georgian Bay, Parry Sound, July 2008

The water levels of Georgian Bay are falling leaving new hazards to boating.

This unlucky sailor in July 2008 hit a reef in the area of the Bay called the Parry Sound Approaches.

Straight of the bow is the Snug Harbour Light Range supposedly marking safe Passage but the overconfident skipper missed the turn 100 meters back and Wham!

Above is the sunken and abandoned 30ft. sailboat hung up on the reef in 6-8 feet of water!

This is the exposed reef!  Great Lakes Falling Waters Website
